Guitar Lessons
Private Lessons
Private lessons teach basics and foundation skills for students to be able to play in all styles with an emphasis on your personal choice of musical genres. Skills, techniques and music learned in a private lesson enable students to be able to play with others or for their own personal enjoyment. Check out some student performances here!
Children
I teach children 7 years old and older. Very young children will need a small 3/4 size guitar. Acoustic is best for elementary school age children and can be nylon or steel string, but the nylon string will be easier on little fingers. Adults
Adults of any age and any skill level can learn to play guitar. Maybe you took lessons as a child and want to take up learning again, if you tried teaching yourself and would like a more personal, structured learning environment, maybe you have never picked up an instrument in your life and finally have the time and motivation to pursue it.... Private lessons are great for the adult who has no prior experience learning a musical instrument because it is a low pressure, learn at your own pace environment. But don't be surprised if you begin to have a desire to play with others. Those with a little bit of background in playing guitar can work on gaining more knowledge, learning styles they haven't worked with before, perfecting techniques they haven't mastered, or even learn to play with others as part of a group.

Ensembles/Bands
Whether it's in a classical guitar ensemble or a multi-instrument rock band... playing in a group with others is one of the most rewarding, fun experiences of playing music and a great way to learn. Playing with others is a great motivator to pick up the instrument and practice! Students who have learned the basics and are able to hold their own when playing songs, whether rhythm or lead, or individual parts, will find it rewarding and fun to learn in a group with other guitar players or other instruments. Bands are formed when I have enough players interesting in playing together in a weekly ensemble setting.
Drums
We teach drum lessons to children ages 8 and up and adults. Drum instructor, James Edward has played in school bands and profession bands. He teaches basic drum rudiments to children and teens that want to play in school marching and symphonic bands and he teaches drum set to both children and adults. He teaches individual lessons and teaches drummers in our Ensemble and Band programs to play songs with a group.
